Tricia Barker

Tricia Barker’s profound near-death experience occurred during her senior year of college, and her time in the afterlife included a specific mission to work as a teacher. Currently, she works as an English professor at a community college campus which is highly focused on service to the community. Tricia’s near-death experience been featured on I Survived: Beyond and Back, Season 1, Episode 5 and covered in National Geographic’s April 2016 article “The Crossing.”

Tricia’s completed manuscript, Angels in the OR: What Dying Taught Me About Healing, Survival, and Transformation, tells the story of her near-death experience, teaching mission, and healing from trauma. Her up-coming book also focuses on the importance being of service to the world and the healing power of giving unconditional love to others.

Tricia is a graduate of The University of Texas. She also received her MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. Her poetry and essays have been published in several national literary magazines. Tricia’s YouTube Channel (Near-Death Experience: Healed by the Light) includes meditations, interviews with other near-death experiencers, and insights from her spiritual journey.
